For our first discussion blog, please introduce yourself to the class by telling us who you are, where you’re from, what year you are here at SDSU, what your major is, and what your interests/hobbies are. Then please tell us why you decided to take this course and what you hope to learn/achieve through this course.
Next, please answer and/or research the following: upon whose homelands does San Diego State’s campus reside? Whose indigenous homelands is your hometown located? Did you know this information previously? Please share your thoughts/reactions to this information (or lack of!)
Lastly, please discuss your reactions to Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s TED Talk. What points from her talk stood out to you? Why do you think we’re beginning our American Indian Studies course with this video? Or, in other words, how do you think this talk might relate to our course subject matter or serve as a lens through which we can approach the subject matter?
Please make sure that your blog post reaches the 300 word minimum requirement and answers all parts of the prompt. Also, remember to respond to at least 1 peer’s post. Your peer response post must reach the 150 word minimum requirement. Both posts are due no later than 11:59 pm on Monday, August 31.
