Basically, create a story (any story at all) using at least 20 cliches.  You may use cliche online sites, but spread out the phrases; avoid using the 1st few phrases of any site as you want different one from your peers. Use your imagination and create an interesting story.  Once you do, you will spot them without fail and avoid them in your formal writing.  review cliche sites online.  Begin gathering cliche phrases (about 20+) and add to a Word Doc. like in a list. Avoid taking the 1st few cliche phrases you find on sites as you want ones different from your peers. Begin thinking about creating a story using nothing but cliches.
