After watching the video and reading about Bacon’s Rebellion in the assigned reading, discuss the impact Bacon’s Rebellion had on indentured servitude and African slavery. What do you think is the significance of this event to U.S. history is in the long-run?
Bacons rebellion is an armed rebellion held by Virginia settlers that took place from 1675 to 1676(Iverson & J 2020). This was due to hardening of the racial caste of slavery in an attempt to divide the two races from subsequent united uprisings with the passage of Virginia slave codes of 1705.In this discussion will get to know the impact bacons rebellion had and its significance in the U.S history.
Bacon rebellion had a huge impact on racial issues in the colonies. Both black and white joined the frontier rebellion therefore hardening the racial lines associated with slavery as a way for planters and the colony to control the poor. The discovery of tobacco was started and the economy of Virginia became better (Kulikoff & A 2012). Thus created demand and cheap labor to both whites and blacks.
