Concisely define evidenced based practice, the evolution of EBP and how barriers to EBP can be overcome. Briefly give an example of a compelling clinical question that piques your interest.
Evidence-based practice in nursing refers to a conscientious and problem-solving technique incorporating the best evidence from well-designed studies and the expertise of clinicians. The method focuses on valuing the preferences of patients while offering care. Unfortunately, no standard practice exists for determining which factors should weigh in the clinical decision-making process. Level A evidence is considered the strongest, with Level C the weakest on the evidence-based information range. Therefore, clinicians need to apply randomized control trials, systematic reviews, and clinical practice guidelines while delivering care to patients.
