Integrated core learning outcomes (ICLOs) focus on attaining four critical competencies, including critical thinking, effective communication, knowledge integration, and social responsibility. The university can achieve this by using both direct and indirect assessments. Direct assessment involves the review of the capstone projects and senior theses of students. Indirect assessment requires gathering information by evaluating the actual samples of student work. I think critical thinking is the most vital ICLO because it helps students make the right decisions.
