The two (2) crashes of Boeing Airlines’ 737 Max 8 present an opportunity for examining the interaction of regulators (Government), industry and society. The ongoing examination of the crashes include investigation of the Boeing/FAA relationship and the role of regulators including whether the airline manufacturing industry can / should self-govern. The environmental position businesses must consider is how their operations will cause air, water, and land pollution. They also need to control contamination associated with highly toxic material and reduce resource pollution.
The overarching ethical issues during a data breach include responsible decision-making, privacy, confidentiality, fraud, piracy, liability, and trade secrets.
The FAA only allowed Boeing 737 Max to operate after convincing the agency it had made changes in its design, software, and crew training to eliminate flaws showing governments can support socially and environmentally responsible firms.
