Bankruptcy is the way forward in these situations because it keeps an organization going. Even though it involves rewriting several contracts, it provides businesses with hope. While corporate bailouts might not have the same effect as bankruptcy, it is often the solution in cases of dire financial consequences. The 2008 financial crisis comes to mind because firms had to indulge in bailouts because of their creditors.
